Most Asked Questions Over the years, we have had many, many hunters ask the same question - What is the best hunt to come on and what is the best time??? Also, what is your percent of Kill??? There is no single hunt date over the years that has proven to be the best time - it varies from year to year. The rut for elk normally runs from the opening of the season, through the first week in October from our Teton Wilderness Camp, and in this camp the later hunts bring weather and snow. So due to different conditions from year to year the hunts will vary. This makes all of the hunts at one time or another the best from year to year. All hunts usually produce very well. ![]() The percent of kill and success ratio will vary from year to year due to weather fluctuations, ability and skill of hunters' shooting and "Lady Luck." According to reports we file each year with the State Board of Outfitters and Guides, our kill percentages consistently runs between 80% and 90% on elk and moose from our Wilderness Camp. Most hunters have an opportunity, with game that is either killed, missed, wounded or turned down, Success is 90% to 95% on all hunts. Our area, #60, is one of, if not the best, area in the state for hunter success for Elk and Moose. This is Trophy Country and we hunt and do all possible to take trophy animals! ![]() |
