rans-Pecos Guide Service was established in 1983 to provide exclusive hunting opportunities for desert mule deer, whitetail, and javelina in West Texas. Since our inception our goal was to always provide the finest hunting opportunities to our clients that chose to hunt this unique region of the State. No other ecological region in the state of Texas can compare with the diversity and abundance of free-ranging native game that flourishes in the Trans-Pecos region. In addition to our desert mule deer and whitetail hunts we can now offer limited hunts for desert bighorn sheep, elk, antelope and quail.
Trans-Pecos Wildlife Services evolved from our involvement with the State of Texas in the management of our wildlife resources. We have now streamlined our operation to devote more time toward the management of our wildlife in order to provide not only exceptional hunter success but opportunities for trophy quality that exceed regional benchmarks for trophy excellence! All of our ranches are actively involved with the Sate of Texas in the Managed Lands Deer Permit (MLDP) program. This affords our clients opportunities to hunt recognized ranches that are actively engaged in habitat preservation, enhancement, and stringent wildlife management practices.
Jon Allen, GM of Nikon Sport Optics & Recreation, with his 171" Circle Ranch Desert Mule Deer in 2007
Our intensely managed properties have ensured exceptional hunter success for mature desert mule deer, whitetail and antelope. Each year several of our hunters are recognized through the Texas Big Game Awards program, which awards certificates of recognition for harvested deer that exceed the regional benchmark for trophy excellence. All of our ranches are low-fenced and all game is 100% free-ranging on native rangeland.
Trophy Desert Mule Deer "Rut" Hunt
These exclusive hunts are scheduled to coincide with the mule deer rut, are limited in availability and are for those individuals with the resources and resolve to hunt these elusive monarchs when they are most vulnerable. Strict harvest management requirements limit the harvest to mature bucks that are at least 6.5 years of age or older. Take advantage of this unique opportunity for one of North America's most sought after trophies.

Lodging/Meals
Each property has unique and comfortable lodging facilities on the ranch that headquarter our hunts. All necessary amenities for the hunt are provided on the property. You’ll enjoy a regional menu of melting briskets, mesquite grilled steaks and chickens, chicken fried venison, tortillas and salsas, green-leafed salad, fresh vegetables and oven-baked pies and breads! Our dedicated staff is very experienced and committed to ensuring a safe and successful hunt. Hunting with Trans-Pecos Guide Service is always an intimate, memorable event. We’re simply not a high-volume outfitter. Our goal is to provide a very personalized and successful hunting experience, which showcases the uniqueness of the Trans-Pecos region and our operation.

We spotted this buck in 2007 from over half a mile away with the new Nikon ED50 spotting scope, and return client Jeff Alward made a good stalk and a nice shot
We got this long range photo through the spotting scope - after our hunters had already tagged out - of a nice Desert Mulie Buck hanging with a doe during the Rut

Texas Desert Bighorn Sheep
Long regarded as the premier game animal in the Southwest, the desert bighorn sheep is now well established in the remote mountains of the Trans-Pecos region of Texas. Permits are awarded by the State each year to individual landowners based on annual census data and habitat evaluation. The Circle ranch generally receives a sheep permit each year. Our habitat enhancement and water accessibility in remote areas has benefited the sheep population that utilizes our “high country”. Our exclusive sheep hunt offers a guaranteed opportunity at a quality ram in some of the most spectacular country in West Texas. Exceptional lodging, experienced wait staff and guides, and accessibility to sheep country via Polaris Ranger or horseback, guarantees an exceptional and successful hunting opportunity for this majestic animal. Please contact us to place your name on our bidding list for the permit.

Travel Planning
One of the most appealing aspects of hunting West Texas is our isolation, the opportunity to “get away” from our demanding lifestyles and to pursue native and free-ranging game in a land of stunning scenery and endless horizons. Unfortunately this often involves extensive travel to reach our ranches. The closest commercial airport to the Circle ranch is the El Paso International Airport. We do provide airport pickup and return for all our Circle ranch hunts.
