We have had more job openings in the last several years than we could fill with our
graduates. It seems we are getting more job opportunities each year.
Our graduates are the best.
The RICK WEMPLE'S SCHOOL OF GUIDING/OUTFITTING has
the most comprehensive training courses offered today, in the rewarding
career of becoming a Professional Outfitter and/or Guide.
The four-week, est. 290 hour resident training course covers the many
phases of the Outfitter/Guide Industry. Everything from judging a big game
trophy to filling a gas lantern, learning Federal Land Use Policies pertaining
to Outfitting/Guiding, to skinning, caping and care of trophies, plus much
more.
Whichever course or combination of courses you choose, you can rest
assured that the RICK WEMPLE'S SCHOOL OF GUIDING/OUTFITTING is the Leader in
Outfitter/Guide training.
Students at RICK WEMPLE'S SCHOOL OF GUIDING/OUTFITTING
have the personal attention of the instructors. They are not just a number
within the class.
We want all our students to become qualified professionals in this field,
someone we are proud to graduate and recommend; and on the reverse of
that, we want our students to be proud of the school. We expect each
student to put forth every effort to accept and utilize the training.
The School has a 100% record on placement of their graduates who wish to
go to work in this profession. Counseling service will also be available to
graduates who wish to go into business for themselves. The RICK WEMPLE'S SCHOOL OF GUIDING/OUTFITTING will offer a certified diploma to GRADUATES who have satisfactorily completed the Four-Week Resident Training Program.
Outfitting and Guiding is like any other profession, you are going to start
out on the bottom and work your way up. Starting out on a job, as a guide,
you will probably be on a seasonal basis. As you gain more experience,
you will work into more of a year-round position, however, this also depends upon who you will be working for and what kind of operation the
Outfitter has. Some Outfitting businesses are seasonal and others work at
it year-long. If you decide on going into business for yourself after a few
years of experience as a guide, then the sky is the limit, you can make your
operation anything you want. The same applies for your salary. When you
start out as a guide, you will not receive top wages. Most new guides
starting out will make in the range of $860 to $1000 per month plus room
and board, but again, this will depend on who you work for and what kind of
operation it is. As you gain experience, you will earn more. Guides with
several years of experience are earning excellent salaries with benefits.
We are the only school in the U.S. that has qualified for teaching our Armed
Forces. We have instructed the Army Special Forces in the art of Combat
Packing with horses and mules. The school has received special recognition from the U.S. Army for our programs.
The RICK WEMPLE'S SCHOOL OF GUIDING/OUTFITTING is
situated southwest of Victor, Montana. Victor is located 35 miles south of
Missoula, Montana. Students flying or coming by Bus will be met at the
appropriate terminal in Missoula. There is a $30.00 airport pickup charge.
Students driving their own vehicles can drive directly to the ranch. We
furnish meals, lodging, livestock and equipment for the duration of the
Resident Training Sessions.
