General Information
The beautiful Bitterroot and Sapphire Mountains with their majestic peaks are home to trophy size Big Game. Our Montana areas for hunting are in the Bitterroot and Lolo National Forests of Western Montana. Permitted on over 2 million acres, including areas: 202, 203, 204, 240, 250, 260, 261, 270 and area 700.
Rick Wemple Outfitting, Inc. offers Archery and Rifle guided ‘fair chase’ combination hunts for Elk and Deer in the Fall, and in addition we offer Spring Black Bear hunts and Winter Cougar (Mountain Lion) hunts. These hunts have guaranteed license and tags available to HUNTERS if hunting with an Outfitter and applied for in advance, (March 15 for Elk and Deer, August 31 for Lion and 30 days prior to the opening of Bear season).
Also, we offer hunts for Mountain Goat, Moose and Bighorn Sheep if you have the appropriate license and tag and Antelope in Eastern Montana. These hunts are on a drawing and if unsuccessful, your deposit is transferred to another hunt or refunded. We will do all necessary paperwork, and forward the application to you for signature and appropriate funds to be mailed by deadline of the application.
Hunting access to the Bitterroot and Lolo Forests is primary by 4 x 4 vehicle. Horses and mules are used for game retrieval. Most hunting is done on foot. Since there are many remote roadless areas available our guides try to hunt places with little or no hunting pressure from other hunters. Professional Guides are licensed and trained in calling, stalking, dressing, caping, skinning, and will get your game to a processor or cold storage.
In Montana, our guides will truly work hard for you. Guides WILL NOT HUNT IN
COMPETITION WITH YOU. Their sole job is to get you into the game and provide
you with a safe hunt. We seriously consider the ability, comfort and safety of our guests.
 All transportation to and from the airport is provided. All accommodations, meals guides, 4 x 4 vehicles and equipment is provided. All you need is personal gear, weapon license and tag. (For Antelope hunts you must arrive in Forsyth, Montana). Discount travel fares may be available through our travel agent.
We recommend you sight your rifle in for 2” high at 100 yards.
DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE, except for unsuccessful drawing hunts.

Rick Wemple - owner and manager of Rick Wemple Outfitting, Inc., is a native of Western Montana. He has spent most of his life serving the hunting and vacationing public. Rick has 30 years experience guiding hunters and wilderness pack trips into the mountains of Western Montana and Selway Bitterroot Wilderness Area of Idaho. He is well known for his ability to get hunters into the game they are seeking and providing a first class experience. Rick Wemple Outfitting, Inc. is internationally known as one of the Top Outfitter operations in the West.
Rick is the Managing Agent for all the backcountry operations. He is a licensed Outfitter and Guide and his ability as a hunter, fisherman and guide has gained him respect by outdoorsmen from all over the world. His honesty and efforts put forth for clients has made him one of the top Professional Guides in the business. Rick’s knowledge of the area and his backcountry expertise assures hunters their best chances of success.
Rick Wemple also operates one of the oldest and mosf experienced guide schools in the nation. Rick Wemple believes in producing quality graduates that are then hired or placed on jobs from Alaska to New Mexico. We try to always have guides that give more than 100% and are qualified for the job.

The success of your hunt, for the most part, depends on the knowledge, experience, character and integrity of your Outfitter. I am licensed and insured to operate in Montana. Having been in business for over 30 years as full time Outfitters and Guides and having satisfied clients from all over the globe, my integrity has a track record that speaks for itself.
I strictly abide by the code of Ethics of the National Rifle Association, Montana and Idaho Outfitters & Guides Associations and the laws of Montana and Idaho.

Missoula International Airport (MSO), located in Missoula, Montana is serviced by many commercial airlines and is 40 miles away. Private planes can land at either Missoula or the Hamilton, Montana Airport. Let us know your flight number and arrival time so we can arrange to pick you up.
