| I have owned several Leupold Scopes over the years and am very supprized at the change that I have seen in both the quality of their products and moreso their custumer service. To keep it simple. I bought a 4.5 - 14 Vari X III, mounted it on a Remington 300 Ultra Mag with Leupold rings and bases, fired about 20 rounds and noticed what appeared to be a horizontal hairline fracture behind the front ring. Sent it back to Leupold, they tested it and said that it is fine because it passed a submerged pressure test. I was not satisfied by this evaluation so I sent it back again, with the same results. Leupold basically said that I over-tightened their rings. This is unlikely since I have scoped over 20 rifles. If you are looking for a scope company that stands behind their product don't look at Leupold.
