I have taken many deer and wild hogs. It shoots flawlessly! I would recommend you throw away the original trigger and replace it with one of your choice. I installed a Timney with no trouble. I handload 140gr, Sierra SBT with 78 grains of Reloader 22 which gives me about 3400fps. I have shot animals from 80-400 yds using the 6X24X44 Burris mildot (best scope I have ever owned). All but one shot (400yd) went completely through all animals.
