this rifle is perfect for the woods, where you would not shoot over 100 yards. but i do not find this rifle a good pick for in the field, or shots over 200yards. i do have a scope on it. this gun is perfect to carry to alaska hunting grozzly, it is very nice to have in alaska, beacause after you put the first shot in him with a bolt action, you can pick this up and crack 7 shots at him to put him down. it is a nice brush gun, or close range.
