This 25-06 would make an excellent Varmint/Deer rifle. Its alittle heavy, but it dosnt kick. I shoot and reload for it. I shoot this rifle every chance i get , its very accurate. I have Plans for a new burris or Leupold variable 14 power, 50 mm. I have shot Hornandy V-max 75 grain with IMR4350 at max loads of 56.7 grns. very explosive at 3,600 f.p.s, i also have tried Speer 87grn soft point at max 4350, 58grns at 3,400 very very devestating on coyotes. If you want to hunt deer and coyotes, wouldnt mind the 9 pound gun. I would recommend it.
