Comments: This product has several flaws. The most serious, which makes it totally unsuitable for its intended purpose, is that it creaks unexpectedly. With the set-up working fine it would start to creak, I would assume that the web strap had loosened, tighten it, and climb back on only to find the problem worse. Actually, setting the strap loose on the tree (against the manufacturers' directions) seemed to help more than anything. Perhaps the bolt together construction of the platform is the culprit. Another problem is the location the straps' "S" hook attaches to the platform; it is on the opposite side of the location of the strap adjuster. On large trees you almost need to get to be able to get to both sides of the stand for a quick and easy set-up. Another problem with the strap was the adjuster itself. The webbing had a tendency fold over on itself, in the adjuster, as it was being pulled. A really larger pain 15' up. The "safety strap" that comes with this unit (as well as most other stands) is meant more to be a safety net for litigation than your personal being. Wear a quality safety harness while on any stand, you may actually need it on this one. The front edge of the seat on this stand is much lower than the rear. It seems like a good idea as it really does help you to stand up with little effort. However, every now and then if you aren't paying attention diligently to forcing yourself back in the seat, you slide forward with a sudden jerk. This effect causes your heart to kick up to a rate similar to suddenly seeing a whietail come into your field of view. I'd rather work a little harder geting out of the seat than risk sliding off and putting my safety equipment to the test. Do these people actually hunt? If you're looking for a light strap on look elsewhere.
