Comments: This is a very large knife that was tested during a wilderness first aid course. I am an Instructor and wanted to see how it would work as a survival knife. It cut 2" spruce trees with two wacks, and would de-limb as many as 5 1/2" branches with only moderate effort expended. The knife was used by all members of the first nations crew who were being trained and I encouraged them to find it's weak points or to make it fail. I was told by half of the students to order one for them to use in their normal every day life. It cleaned fish, moose and sliced bread as well as making camp for the 10 people on the course. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is not pretty, but to paraphrase a popular movie, pretty is as pretty does.
