At the beginning of each Turkey call review I do, I'm going to make the following disclaimer: I understand that how much one likes a particular Turkey call may be a very subjective thing - what I aim to do in this review is to tell how I liked or disliked the call.

I didn't like the Primos Shock Tube except maybe as a Cow Elk call or a halfway decent Coyote howler. This is one of those calls that makes me wonder if it's designers were turkey hunters or not. Primos advertises that this call can do a whole range of turkey sounds, including gobbles. I'm here to tell you, it may can do a range of sounds, but you're going to have to work like mad to make those calls sound realistically like turkey talk. You blow into this call like you would an elk call. When trying this call out, I could occasionally elicit something that resembled a turkey yelp or cutt, but there was no consistency at all, and I really worked at it. Trying the "gobble" on this call really made me laugh. There's no way any self-respecting Tom turkey would fall for that gobble.

The only thing that was actually good about this call, in my opinion, is the volume. It is LOUD.

I don't recommend the Shock Tube as a good turkey call. There's just a bunch of other turkey calls available that make much better sounds with much less effort than the Shock Tube.

    Pros: Good volume
Cons: No consistency with quality turkey sounds
