Purchased this gun used- in like new condition. First groups ran 1 to 1 3/8"- with a variety of handloads. It combines several of the best features of bolt designs- the Browning bolt release, Model 70 trigger and safety, and 700 type bolt face lugs. The magazine is detactable box, and comes with the recoil lug glass bedded. Some thought went into this gun- but has since been discontinued due to market saturation at that price level. I would really encourage anyone to pick one up if the chance presents itself- cause you'll find them reasonable- a real sleeper. Since I've developed a load for the '06 I have, and without a lot of fuss it's a pretty consistent 3/4"- being 60grs of #22, 210M, Speer 180 in Federal brass. Shot one 7" group @600 yards- 5 rds with Lady Luck present. To me, the barrel quality overall is terrible in the Remingtons of late years- and alot of factors go into an accurate rifle- but without a good barrel there is no hope. Marlin does put good barrels on guns- at the price ranges, and suggest of the same quality as higher priced guns.
