I purchased this rifle mostly to use during the fall big game hunting season so I can legally keep on hunting coyotes and foxes, only rimfire are allowed during that period around where I live. I mounted a 3-9x Leupold compact on it and with most of the new hi-vel. ammo I can keep groups under an inch at 100 yards. I have been so pleased with it's performances that I use it all year round, from dusting gophers in the summer to foxes and coyotes in the winter. With the 22Mag the pelt damage is reasonable on foxes and almost nil on coyotes, sure you have to keep your shots under 100 yds but when calling this is usually fairly easy. I have just purchased a new 10-22 Mag, it is just as accurate but the real field test has not begun yet... Very well done RUGER!
