My first Kimber model 8400 in 270WSM shot very poorly with all loads tested. Returned rifle to them and got a 300 back. This new rifle is phenomenal...recently I bought an HS Precision in same caliber and have been shooting the two side-by-side with surprising results. With handloads ranging from 130g to 168g, the Kimber has shot as well or better out to 200 yds; while the HS is finnicky, the Kimber likes everything thrown at it(a rare thing for magnum cals). Also, perceived recoil seems to be the same, even though the Kimber weighs a pound or so less.
