This is a well made and accurate rifle with a detachable magazine and interchangable barrels. It is fairly easy to take down for travel, but the stock needs to be removed to take it down. It holds zero well after being taken down, probably because of the bedding blocks in the stock. The finish is a teflon type that seems durable. The stock is a basic injection molded type, but a wood stock is offered for about $50 more. I have heard there may be a change in ownership of the company underway, which may explain why these are hard to find. I am impressed with the quality of this rifle for the money. Sigarms also offers the Sauer 202 with a similar design for twice the money, but I doubt it would outshoot the SHR970. I hope to see them become more popular in the USA so I can add more barrels.
