Purchased for 7 1/2 year old son last Christmas. Dimensions were excellent for child and are usable for adult. Son is now 8 1/2 and this rifle has won his trust and henceforth improved his shooting skills. The Model 62C we own is very well made and flawless in function. The metal work on the rifle is very good. The stock finish is crude, but the wood is dense and doesn't absorb moisture. Metal to wood fit is very good. My single beef is that the front sight was loose. Staked it and no rpoblem since. The rear sight adjustments work well for ranges from 25 to 200 yards. The size has allowed my son to use it safely and to master gun handling safety skills both at the range and in the small game fields. The rifle is not tack driver, but my son target shoots with it offhand at 50 yards and gets satisfying groups. He also shoots it at 200 yards with surprisingly good results. I have shot the rifle and find it to balance well and have a stock shich has dimensions usable by a 5'9" adult. I would recommend this rifle to anyone who wants to buy their child a rifle that can be retained and used when the child is an adult. The quality of the rifle insures that the gun will be a serviceable possession for the child as an adult.
