Good Points:Accurate, capable of about 2-3 inches at 100 yards.Handles well.Scope mounts allow removal of scope with subsequent installation on rifle allowing use on deer size targets with no practical change in point of impact.Peep sights are very good for field use with the front sight provided.Magazine handles well, and makes no noise when installed in rifle.Scope protector works.Design flaws:The barrel band slide slightly if the rifle is used with a sling. This could be remedied by the installation of a barrel band retainer.Front sling swivel in the barrel band can make noise in the field, even with a sling installed. A bushing may help.Cosmetic flaws as removed from the box:Very slight imperfection on small (about 1/16" by 1/8")area of bluing on the rear left receiver. Two very slight tool marks on the stock, probably from a jig of some sort. Overall:I would recommend this rifle. It performed flawlessly for about 100 rounds on the range, It also provided exactly the type of hunting arm Ruger advertises, its handiness allowing effective shooting on moving deer at close ranges.
