ipe Creek Buffalo Hunts is located in North Central Kansas about 25 miles north of Salina, just off interstate 135. We are right in the heart of arguably the best upland bird, Turkey, and Whitetail Deer hunting in the state. Now we can proudly add Buffalo to that list as well. North Central Kansas is a mix of habitat, from scenic rolling hills, to creek bottoms, thickets, row crops, fields of CRP Grass, and the Great Rolling Plains. It makes the perfect setting in which to hunt Buffalo, which inhabited this area several hundred years ago. Slip back in time to when pioneers were filtering into Kansas and big herds of bison roamed the lush prairie. Kansas was ideal country for bison in those days, with buffalo covering as much land as a man could see for days. Kansas is still ideal country for bison, and offers a great opportunity to take a buffalo for the freezer and the trophy room.

Hunters can fly into Wichita only an hour and a half to the south or Salina just 25 miles to the south. Airport pickup is readily available provided prior arrangements are made. Camp consists of a brand new fully furnished lodge with two kitchens, microwaves, stoves, refrigerators, and bunk beds sleeping 12. We also have a processing area with freezers, a walk-in cooler, and hoists to hang, quarter and cape your trophy. If you like to rough it, or would like to relive the historical hunt, we can set up a wall tent on our property for you as well.

Pipe Creek Buffalo Hunts has a three day fully guided and guaranteed package. Younger bulls at 2-3 years and approximately 1000 pounds are recommended for the table, and the older bulls weighing from 1500 to 2000+ pounds are targeted for the wall. The hunter gets head, hide, and all the meat. We will take the harvested bull to a USDA processing plant, and the head and hide to one of our fine taxidermists if desired. Processing is at the hunters expense and is generally complete either overnight or within a day. The hamburger will be frozen and steaks vacuum packed so you can age to your own standards. Buffalo hunts are from Dec. 15 through Feb. 15. These are the shortest days of the year and thus produces the best hair coat.
