We arrived into camp for the first week of Bowhunting. David and Ron greated us with a warm smile, hot cup of coffee and a firm handshake. After showing us our accommodations, helping us unpack, we headed off with our guide to see some stand locations. The guide (Serge) was very knowledgeable about deer biology and he showed us what was happening in that part of the property. After agreeing to our locations, he helped us with our tree stands. We had a great dinner that night, meeting the other hunters in camp and went to sleep at midnight. We never slept in tents before so I was a little hesitant. I slept like a rock. Same all week. The next morning we were up early to eat breakfast and out we went. Three quarters of an hour later I arrowed an eight pointer. This deer was the biggest I ever seen alive. It was following a doe into my clearing. We ended up scoring the rack at home (dry). It scored 169 1/2. The body weighed a heavy 238 lbs. My buddy missed a 12 pointer and my brother never got a shot off. He saw six deer total that week but wasn't ready or just got the fever. He got moved around after that four times to help him with easier shots. I hunted on my brothers tag all week (close by) and saw a few other nice shootable bucks. I didn't cos I wanted him too - being a nice guy.Overall the staff was great. Hunt was great. The menu was fantastic and the accommodations were outstanding. For the price you can't beat this hunt. Ontario has some huge bucks. I am going back for the late season bowhunt this year.
