Went on the third rifle hunt during the second week of Nov. Area received snow and cold temps. Went out there with 8 other hunters for 5 days on a 2X1 hunt. Opening morning two of us went with a guide and his 9 year old son. I was placed in a stand and left with the 9 year old while the guide took the other hunter to another location. I ended up baby sitting for a kid who sword fought with the bushes, threw chunks of snow down the hill side and I ended the morning hunt when he started to sing a bunch of songs while sitting on a rock behind me. Figuring this was a fluke I didn't say anything untill I got stuck with the kid again that night. After talking to the outfitter (kids grandfather)in a nice way, I didn't have anymore problems but seemed to have gotten on his sh!! list for the next few days. Things did work out better near the end of the week as we got to know each other a little better. Saw lots of cow elk every day, the guides were friendly and knew the territory very well. The two bulls that our group took were nice and we worked hard for them. Everyone we spoke with in town and around the ranch said we should have easly taken 6 or 7 bulls and the lack of elk was very rare for this outfitter. If you just want to shoot an average bull out of a hayfield, stay in a bunkhouse, and eat pretty well, this would be a good hunt for you.
