The summer fires of 2000 had a significant effect on the wildlife and their habitat. Despite early inquiries regarding the situation, conversations with the outfitters personnel assured many of the hunters that the fire had little effect on the wildlife and habitat. This simply was untrue. None of the 8 hunters during this period saw an elk and very few deer were seen. In convserations around the bunk house, all hunters voiced their displeasure with the hunt.
