Going on my first bear hunt I was a little nervous, but making Vic Morrell my guide for this hunt made it almost too easy. Vic and his staff made my wife and I at home in a separate cabin from the lodge where we had some privacy. The cook came to the cabin in the morning and evening and prepared our meals, the food was excellent and so were the accomodations. Vic really knows his business, he gets you on stand over some very active bait sites and then it's all up to you to get your bear. The weather wasn't cooperating the week I was there, high winds, warm temps, but finally on the third day, even with the winds whipping my scent around I took a fine bear about 7:00 pm, just as Vic and his guide were coming to pick me up. Vic and his people really know how to make you feel at home and you leave as friends. Vic will go out of his way to put you on a bear. When you're there ask him to tell you some stories about "Bob". This hunt was well worth it.
