Overall Impression: Very, very bad

3 of us went on a guided hunt to the Ballantyne Lake area where the caribou were supposedly there year round due to the forage - not! We saw 6 caribou in 6 days, with only one mediocre bull. The food was horrible with hard boiled eggs and spiced meat every day for breakfast. Lunch was a sandwich made out of the same spiced meat. Supper consisted of char on 4 of 6 nights and stew the other 2 nights - ridiculous! We never left camp prior to 9 AM and were back each day by 5:30 - even though it was light from 4 AM till 10PM! Some of us were disgusted and tried on our own before the guides woke or after dinner. My guide "broke his glasses" prior to the hunt and therefore didn't have any. He also "forgot" his binoculars - a difficult situation when you are supposedly glassing 5 miles for animals. We were never moved to another camp even though it was promised before the hunt. In a camp of 10 hunters with 20 caribou tags, 11 animals were taken with most of them cows -(just to take some meat home). As for meat care, the guide hacked the 2 hind quarters off of the animal and took the backstrap, leaving the rest of the meat. The guide's back was hurting, so I ended up packing out my animal! After the complaining from everyone, we were offered a return hunt next year for 1/2 price - no way would I go through that again! I would positively not recommend this outfitter to anyone.
