My friend and I hunted with Clark Fork for spring black bear in 2009. We never saw or met the owner Michael White although I did speak with him on the phone and we did email watch other before the hunt. He leaves all the details to his very capable camp manager Dave Mears. Dave and guides Leon & Tim are all very hard working and knowledge guys. They will, and do, work hard for you. We didn't see many bears because they were being nocturnal and hitting the baits at night.We did however hunt with dogs and this was a new and FANTASTIC experience for me. If you have never hunted bears with dogs you owe it to yourself to go with guys and try it. Tim and Leon seem to be excellent houndsmen. The dogs were successful for me and treed a very, very nice male bear. It took us over 2 hours to hike back to where the dogs had him treed. It was a GREAT hunt!! My partner did not get a bear this trip but it was not from a lack of effort from our guides. That's just hunting.
