Did a 2 day hog hunt at the ranch which is between Sweetwater and Abeline TX. I have hunted free range hogs in this country before and knew it held alot of game. Dos Plumas is high fence, medium size ranch (by TX standards)split into several pastures. As an experienced hunter I did not want to sit in a blind over a feeder, but chose to still hunt in very dry thick terrain for hogs. This is challenging because these pigs are hunted hard, and are quite wary. Doing it this way will make it real, and I killed a hog in the am, and one in the pm of day one after long stalks and getting busted a few times. There are fishing tanks so Ill bring my gear next time and the food was very good ranch type cooking. Mrs. Williams is very pleasant and helpful, and can really cook. Accommodations are just like the website describes; basic and for the average man.If you need a fancy lodge or a Chardonnay best keep looking, if you want a good quality hunting experience reasonably priced, this is your place. I would esp. recommend it for a young hunter due to the amount of game they will see.
