We hunted with Jay on his last hunt of the 2008 season. This success of this hunt is heavily dependant on the elk migrating out of Yellowstone. The weather was unseasonably warm the week we were there so the elk stayed in the park. There are also local elk to hunt and our guide did show us some great bulls. However, he also had caught a bad chest cold from the previous group of hunters and his coughing screwed up the one good chance that we had by scaring off the elk. Our camp went zero for six for the week. Other outfitters in the area that we met on the ride out had similar experiences. Make sure that you are in the best shape possible if you go. Lots of grizzlies around also.
