Overall Impression: good food, nice guide, not enough game
Our group of five hunted three days for hogs and javelina in the second week of March, 2007. In total, we took home two hogs and three javelina, all with rifle. We had hoped to bowhunt for bacon, but we saw few pigs, none of which were in bow range during daylight hours. Three out of five guys had no shot opportunities at hogs, even with rifles. Three out of five guys saw no javelina. The cabin we stayed in was basic, but comfortable, and the food provided was very good. Our guide named Bill was a fine gentleman. He was friendly and very knowledgable, and I believe he tried hard to put us on hogs. This was my first experience with this outfit, but my fourth year in a row to hog hunt south Texas. While I did see some pigs at a distance, I saw less game on this trip than any other previous Texas hunt, and all of the places have been low-fence. This outfit does have access to many ranches, but my impression is that they have many hunters, leaving too few hogs and javelina. If you have any questions, feel free to email me for more details.
