Overall Impression: Memorable

Our party hunted the first week of September. We arrived at our first camp after some logistical challenges. The weather was very warm, but the outgoing group hit the migration!! Unfortunately, it had passed by the time we arrived. There were few caribou seen and of those shot they were cows. As the days passed the caribou all but disappeared. We finally were relocated and had to make it happen that afternoon because we were scheduled to depart the following morning. That afternoon was a big success!! and our hunt was somewhat saved. Still, there were several hunters that did not harvest 2 caribou. To sum up the experience.....be patient!! You are on "Tundra Time" and a lot is out of your control. You live and die by the willingness of the outfitter to relocate you to where the migration is!!!!!! Club Chambeaux will do that, but in our case with little time to capitalize.
