We went to camp 26 and Sonny was our guide. My dad and I each got 2 trophy caribou along with everyone at the camp. Around 75% of the caribou that were taken were double shovels.Once we went in the boat scanning an island and the boat stalled and never started again. So we paddled to the shore. After waiting an hour Sonny came by with his boat.We put our orange vests on the end of the oar and tried to flag him down but he didn't stop. My dad grabed his gun, loaded a round and went to fire, but he finnaly saw us. So the boats weren't good quality.I got both of my caribous with my bow and my dad got his with a rifle. I wish the hunting had been a little more fair chase though. After we had gotten both of our caribou we went fishing. We went to some of the islands behind the camp and 4 caribou came off an island and into the water. We turned the boat around and went up to the caribou. We got on the radio and told all the folks back at camp to get their cameras out. We pushed the caribou in front of the camp. We also caught 2 fish. The experience at camp was great but there is a different story in Montreal and Sheferville. We were told that we would be leaving that day but when we got to Sheferville they said that we were going to spend a night there. On the way back our flight from Shefferville back to Montreal was supose to get there at 7 but it got there at 11. They told us that Giles was going to meet us in Montreal but he didn't. So when we got to the Holiday Inn at 12:45am we called Giles and asked him where he was and this is what he said,"I got to get some sleep sometime." That made us mad so we hung up the phone and went to bed. We got up the next morning and put our meat and giant racks in our trailer and left for Maine. So over all it wasn't really bad, but it could have been better. We definatly lucked out with our huge trophy caribou. I hope to try to enter mine in the Pope & Young books. Sonny, our guide, made our hunt much better. All 4 of our caribou will be mounted.
