Would Recommend: Only to my absolute worst enem

Overall Impression: Absolutely the worst hunt I've ever experienced!

This hunt was the worst camp set up that I've ever experienced in my life. My assigned guide had never elk hunted before in his life and had received his guide license in the mail the day before the hunt. I ended up teaching him how to call elk. This was an archery hunt. The elk weren't even around the camp area. You would walk 2 miles or so to even get in the area the elk were at. All the time, leaving the horses in camp that we were told we would be able to ride to our hunting areas. WRONG!!! The only lanterns in camp were one in his tent and one above the 3' square cook table. No chairs or even logs pulled up to sit on in camp. We even ran out of toilet paper. The shower bag water was black with larvae, moss and bugs. He didn't even dig a hole for a latrine. He had a small camp shovel that each person was to use to dig their own hole as needed.I strongly urge you to not book with this outfitter. Hunting the Gila Wilderness is supposed to be a memorable experience. I will never forget this hunt, but not in the way you're supposed to remember it.
