Just returned from Sept 04 Moose hunt to Northern Alberta. Really great experience. Ken Baker runs a small personal operation that gets you out away from the locals and natives. This was a 2x1 hunt with only two hunters per camp. This was my first experience hunting moose and I can say that you Turkey hunters out there would love it. Very, very similar to the way you hunt Turkeys. Look for promising areas and then call. This is not the kind of hunt where you see lots of moose, but when you see one or get one to answer you're call, you usually nail him. Ken did a superb job calling my moose in while it was with a cow. This is pretty hard to do. This was a fly-in hunt on a lake 150 miles from Ft Mcmurray. No access other than float plane. We had 4 hunters and went 3 for 4 on 45 inch + bulls. My bull was around 47in and had great mass. All the bulls weighed over 1400 lbs. Ken really busts his butt to put you in front of a good bull and this is a real quality hunt. I can't over emphasize the importance of hunting where the locals and natives don't access. Also, be prepared for the volume of meat, 900 lbs of de-boned meat is quite a pile if you're used to deer or elk. This is not a big operation and you're not a number, I really, really enjoyed this trip. Please give me a call for any questions you might have.
