I'll start by saying I did not take a cat. Everything else on the trip was perfect and Kim Payne is a life long cat hunter, a former 2nd generation state professional depredation cat and bear hunter for many many years, and more recently as an outfitter. He knows cats and the whole state of UT. We hunted three different areas and ranged a couple hundred miles in each direction.The cats were not moving well, but up until I showed up he was running his normal 90+% success for the season to date. He's so good and so confident that if you don't score you come back next year for FREE! He does not have to pay off on that offer often!Kim's wife Suzy handles all the logistics and keeps things well organized. You'll dine in nice quaint a local restaurant and eat what you want when you want it and charge it to Kim. You'll stay at local hotels that are nice and included in the cost of the hunt. The country is great and the cats are there, though my week of 1 on 1 with Kim did not result in a treed cat. He'll hunt them on foot, on snowmobile, on 4 wheeler, or on mule. Whatever it takes.If you want a real chance at a cat Kim is the man to hang your hopes on. I'll be going back next year.
