Lazy H Meadows - Colorado Elk & Mule Deer Hunts

azy H Meadows is a family owned business offering elk & mule deer hunting in Northern Gunnison County, Colorado. Our 160 acre ranch is located at 8000 feet elevation in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of the Gunnison National Forest. Our ranch is completely surrounded by thousands of acres of national forest. The hunting area has a mix of open meadows, quaking aspen, spruce and scrub oak. We direct you in the right direction to find the elk and mule deer, but do not guide you (you do not need a guide on this hunt). We do not provide a service on forest service lands. Most hunters are very successful using the stand method (both tree stands and ground stands). They usually hunt over elk wallows, beaver ponds or elk crossings from feeding to bedding areas. We do everything to make your hunt an enjoyable experience and for you to return year after year and bring your friends.

Lodging: We have 3 cabins with woodburning stoves and electricity. Each cabin can sleep 3 or 4 people, although we try to limit the number of hunters to 6 per season; this gives you plenty of room to store your gear.

Meals: All meals are furnished and served at our large ranch house with it's large kitchen and dining facilities. All meals are home cooked and delicious with a hot cooked breakfast, fully packed lunch and 1/2 hour after dark a full course dinner will be served.

1st season (Combined elk/deer) Oct. 14 - 18 ELK ONLY THIS SEASON, BY DRAWING ONLY
2nd season Oct. 21 - 25
3rd season Nov. 4 - 8
4th season Nov. 15 - 19

License drawing: All mule deer, muzzleloader, 1st and 4th rifle seasons and cow elk are by DRAWING ONLY - DEADLINE APPLICATION FOR 2005 IS POSTMARKED BY APRIL 4, 2006

2006 License fees:
- Archery Non-resident $480.00
- Bull Elk Non-resident 480.00
- Cow Elk Non-resident 250.00 - BY DRAWING ONLY
- Mule Deer Non-resident 270.00 - BY DRAWING ONLY

HUNTING RATES: Archery hunts are $1,250.00 per person, and rifle & muzzleloader hunts are $1,500.00 per person, with a $750.00 deposit to reserve your choice of hunt. Deposits are not refundable.
