HISTORY:
* Established in 1990...Offers Quality Elk and Mule Deer Hunts in Colorado Game Management Unit 76
* Unit 76 is one of the many drawing areas in the state and requires an accumulation of preference points in order to draw a permit.
* Permitted in Rio Grande National Forest of Southwestern Colorado
* Colorado has more elk than any other state or Canadian province, but 80% of the statewide population are cows and calves.
* The limitation units were created to improve the bull to cow ratio.
* Five day guided hunts provided during all four RIFLE seasons, as well as ARCHERY AND MUZZLELOADER.
* Jake’s vast knowledge of the terrain coupled with over 50 years of personal hunting experience, gives him the expertise to provide his clients with an EXCEPTIONAL OPPORTUNITY FOR SUCCESS!
* Jake’s wife, Sal, has hunted by his side for over 30 years.
HUNTING PHILOSOPHY:
* We strive to offer the highest quality hunt possible by limiting the number of clients in camp...Share Your Tent with your Spouse, Relative, or Best Friend, not a total stranger.
SUCCESS:
* We do not require that you shoot the first legal bull you see...You can HOLD OUT for the POSSIBILITY of a larger bull.
* To date, all clients have had the opportunity to shoot at a mature bull.
* Since 1990, our overall success (kill) rate, including archery and muzzleloader hunters, is 80%! This compares with the total statewide average of 24%.
* Jake and Sal have both been serious bowhunters for years. We know what it takes to get bowhunters up close and personal for a good shot. We will not pressure you to shoot beyond your effective range.

HUNT AREAS:
* A 3 1/2 hour horseback ride through alpine meadows and spruce benches near timberline takes us to our high camps, at approximately 11,000 feet. We also have a low camp for our late season hunts.
ACCOMODATIONS:
* Camp is extremely comfortable, with wall tents, wood burning stoves,
cots, and hearty, home-cooked meals!

* Our pricing is very competitive for our elk or deer hunts. We have 1x1 2x1 and 3x1 hunts available, and take only very small groups to provide more personalized service. We provide camps for 2 or 3 hunters for a cost of $4200 per hunter. Our one on one (1x1) hunts are $5900.
