BIG GAME HUNTS

We offer hunts for both Mule Deer or Whitetail, Pronghorn Antelope, and Elk on our large private ranches. These ranches are managed with the wildlife and trophy quality in mind. Rifle Elk hunts are by special permits only. The success rate on the permit draw is low but the elk are big and plentiful.

BIG GAME COMBO HUNTS

We offer combo hunts for mule deer, whitetail and pronghorn antelope or elk. After your big game tags are filled you can hunt prairie dogs, coyotes & birds or fish free of charge. We like to refer to our combo hunts as our Montana Safari.

BIRD HUNTING - Slot openings still available for 2013!

We have four species of game birds which are all hunted on our bird hunts. Come and hunt Pheasants, Sage Grouse, Sharptail Grouse, and Hungarian Partridge. We also hunt Waterfowl on these hunts when the seasons allow. It is a mixed bag hunt with plenty of action. We have tens of thousands of acres of excellent wild bird habitat. Bring your own dogs or we will use ours. Outdoor kennels are available. Dogs are not allowed in the lodge and must be kenneled or leashed when not hunting.

PRAIRIE DOGS

Montana prairie dog hunts are literally a blast for anyone who loves to pull the trigger. Montana prairie dogs are on the increase and we have thousands of acres of prairie dogs to hunt. Prairie dog hunting is best June through Sept. when the weather is warm and the skies are blue. FWCO has been doing prairie dog hunts since 1999. Many of the hunters that started with us then are still hunting with us every year.

We have mobile, shaded shooting trailers with stabilizers, adjustable shooting stools and lots of sand bags to make your prairie dog hunt a comfortable shooting experience.

Most prairie dog hunters will shoot 200-300- rounds per day. We reccomend that you bring at least two rifles.

MIX AND MATCH THE GAME

We will do our best to accommodate any combination of game animals you wish to hunt. For example, coyotes and prairie dogs go with almost any hunt and you can't get a more exciting hunt than a mule deer/antelope combination with some bird hunting thrown in.

ARCHERY

This is exciting hunting because we are always on game.

Deer: We hunt the cover along river bottoms with adjacent crop land. We use tree stands or ground blinds where we can't spot and stalk or ambush.

Pronghorn Antelope: This is a great way to get up close and personal with one of North America's most unique game animals. Hunting is from ground blinds.

Elk: Our hunting area really needs no introduction. The Missouri River Breaks without a doubt is by far one of the best places in the world to archery hunt elk. We hunt almost 100% private land from the ground and above.

FOOD, LODGING, TRAVEL

Flatwillow Creek Outfitters, LLC. is a full service outfitter. We will feed you two good, hot, ranch style meals a day plus a generous sack lunch while enjoying the hunt. We provide a comfortable hunting camp with plenty of space. Good beds and a hot shower await you at the end of your day.

We will pick you up at the Billings Airport and take you back when the hunt is over. If you prefer to drive from the airport car rentals are available in Billings. We will either deliver your trophy to our experienced taxidermist for mounting or shipping, or if driving, we will cape and freeze your trophy for your journey home. We take all of the meat to a local processor. You may either take it with you or make arrangements with the processor for shipping. If you do not want the meat, you can pay the basic processing fee and have the meat donated to the needy. We do not cover taxidermy, meat processing or shipping expenses.

When your big game tags are filled you can relax at camp or pick up your shotgun and give a pheasant a whirl. We don't expect anyone to sit in camp. We also have a private trout pond so bring your rod and try your luck at fishing.

HUNTING AREA

Flatwillow Creek Outfitters, LLC. is located 100 miles north of Billings in one of the least populated counties in the United States. From the foothills of the Snowy and Judith Mountains to the Rough timber covered Missouri and Musselshell River breaks and in between on the vast sage brush prairie with willow and cottonwood choked creek bottoms. This is some of the best hunting in Montana with high game counts and good 4x4 accessibility. In addition to what we own, we have leased thousands of acres of the best hunting in this area. BOOKING TERMS

We only take a limited number of hunters each season so reservations far in advance are a good idea. A 1/2 deposit books a hunt. The balance is due prior to the beginning of the hunt. Money orders, cashiers checks and cash only.

POLICIES

We charge $3.00 per mile one way for unscheduled trips to and from the airport. Scheduled trips are a part of your hunt and no extra cost to you. We are very busy during hunting season trying to make your hunting trip a success. Unscheduled airport runs not only cost us fuel and mileage but also takes our personnel away from those who are still hunting. Regularly scheduled airport runs are the day before you start hunting and the day after you are done hunting

We have also adopted a wounded animal policy for our big game hunts. Montana's game animals are a precious resource and are here for everyone to enjoy. However, animals that are wounded and get away are considered yours. We will exhaust all of our resources in an attempt to recover your game, but there is no substitute for lots of shooting practice, the right caliber, and equipment.
