![]() ur hunts, for the most part, are tough, rigorous adventures in
some of the most awesome, rugged landscape in North America. We hunt the same country made famous by Theodore Roosevelt, Jack O'Connor, Col. Townsend Whelen, Warren Page and other hunting greats. Our hunts are true, old-fashioned, western, mountain, pac
k train, horseback adventures.
The 2003 season, our 30th year of full-time outfitting, was one of our best ever. The Yellowstone fires of '88 have caused increased forage production. Several mild winters in a row enabled older trophy game to survive. Those factors, plus favorable hunting weather, for the most part, gave us good success on all species. Several of our six point bulls scored 300 to 330 B & C. As usual, we had virtually 100% opportunity on branch antlered bull elk and bighorn rams. In 2004, we'll be running economical 3-day late season elk hunts for both cows and trophy bulls. If you're on a tight budget or can't spare the time for a longer hunt, these November - December hunts could be just right for you.
On your hunt, if you're interested, you can learn about horsemanship, horsepacking, trees, wildlife, geology, weather, astronomy, history, Native Americans, wilderness ethics, camping, cooking, perhaps even a smattering of wildflowers and edible plants (on September hunts), and much more! You'll learn glassing techniques, stalking-skills, game calling, natural h istory and wildlife habits. |
