  ouble Harvest Waterfowling hunts take place in prime duck habitat in the Sabine Riverbottom. All hunting is done on private land that is managed strictly for quality duck hunting. Our hunting areas consist mostly of beaver ponds, sloughs, swamps, and flooded timber. We are in close proximity not only to the Sabine Riverbottom, which has fantastic habitat - especially when flooded - we also are in close proximity to several very large Corps of Engineers lakes which usually hold good numbers of ducks through the season, including Toledo Bend Reservoir. The ducks spend all night in the Sabine bottom or on one of the area lakes or flooded fields, and then hit our hunting areas at first light to spend the day. We have some of the best duck habitat and some of the best duck hunting in East Texas.
Duck hunting in East Texas is too often characterized by public hunting, skybusters, and lots of hunting pressure. You won't see any of that hunting with Double Harvest Waterfowling. We hunt 100% prime private land duck habitat, don't skybust, and limit our hunting pressure. We don't shoot ducks "on the swing" here. We shoot ducks when their wings are cupped, their feet are down and they're diving into the decoys. It's a pretty incredible sight to see 25 Mallards lighting in your decoys, rising sun on them, cool, crisp December air, and whistling wings overhead. 
The primary ducks our hunters kill are Mallards, Gadwall and Wigeon, with some Teal, Wood Duck and the occasional Pintail or Diver as well. We cater primarily to duck hunters, but we do offer some combination duck/deer and duck/hog hunts as well. Duck hunting takes place in the morning, deer or hog hunting takes place in the evening. Our property is located just a short drive from Dallas, Tyler, Lufkin, Houston, or Austin. We are also just a quick drive to the casinos in Shreveport, Louisiana. 
Our Brand New Lodge   We maintain food plots and automatic feeders year round for deer and hog hunts. We have a good number of hogs and a good number of Whitetail deer. You're not likely to take a "trophy", big-racked buck, but you will have a good chance of having a fun hunt and taking home some meat. There are some trophy hogs on the place, including some real nice boars. We have a large acreage comprised of mixed hardwood, thickets and pine timber where we do our deer and hog hunts, and it is excellent habitat for both.
Our hunts include one night's lodging (double occupancy, in our brand new lodge for 2003) per day of hunting, excellent home-cooked meals, decoys, guides, stands, blinds, feeders, etc. A deposit of 1/2 the hunt fees is required in advance to book a hunt. Balance is due upon arrival, in the form of cash or same as cash only. No personal checks will be accepted for your balance payment. Duck Hunting Duck hunts are morning only. We have a number of permanent blinds that are hunted on a rotating basis, as well as hunting in flooded timber without blinds. All duck hunts are guided. Bird processing is available for a fee. Hunts are for a one-day minimum, no maximum. We can hunt up to 12 hunters at one time between our different blinds. Combination Hunts - Fall 2003 SPECIAL  Combination hunts for Deer and Hogs will be available during duck season. You will hunt ducks until noon, then may hunt either Deer, Hogs, or both, during the evening. This is a great deal that you big game hunters should take advantage of! Hunt ducks all morning and hunt big game in the evening. Rifle, bow, blackpowder and handgun hunters are all welcome!
