| Area, with Washington's Most Experienced Turkey Guides Turkey hunting is one of our specialties. Your outfitter, Dale Denney, started hunting turkey right here in Washington back about 1980. BearPaw Outfitters has been offering guided turkey hunts here in Washington's #1 area since the season first opened statewide. BearPaw Outfitters have proven themselves to be Washington's #1 turkey guides. Dozens and dozens of successful past hunters have experienced our exciting and successful hunts over the years. We've even developed some of our own hunting and calling techniques which dramatically increase your odds of bagging that smart old boss gobbler. Our emphasis is geared toward sending every hunter home with a bird. That must be one of the reasons so many of our Turkey Hunters re-book hunts year after year. Best of all, not only do we guide you to the birds, but we also include Tara's home cooked meals in the lodge and warm cozy sleeping accommodations in one of our guest cabins. If you bag your turkey early, test your skill at some of our excellent trout and walleye fishing in nearby waters. Or maybe keep on hunting for rockchucks, squirrels, or coyotes. There's always exciting things to do at BearPaw Outfitters. So, for an unforgettable experience call us today. One bit of advice!....Do not come turkey hunting unless you are willing to live with another addiction. Because once you get it in your blood, you will not be able to stay away!... Fabulous Forest Grouse Hunting Northeast Washington is an Upland Bird Hunters paradise. Ruffed Grouse are present in numbers rarely seen anywhere. Blue Grouse are abundant on the high open ridges, and there are also Franklin (Spruce) Grouse in the high mountain lodgepoles. Season runs September 1 to December 31, but the best hunting is during September and October. Bird hunters can choose from guided or unguided hunts. You can also mix your hunt with grouse, waterfowl, pheasant, or even big game hunting for bear, deer, elk, or predators. Uncrowded Waterfowling Our area does not get the massive flocks of waterfowl some other areas do. But, we don't get the large numbers of waterfowl hunters either. Much of the hunting is relatively untouched. We rarely see another hunter, which in itself makes for a rare experience for most of the waterfowlers who hunt with us. We have real good hunting on smaller flocks of ducks and some geese. We usually do some early morning decoying, then jump shoot the smaller streams and ponds as the day progresses, and maybe mix in a little grouse shooting if desired later in the day. The choice of shooting is yours to make. At the end of the day's hunt you will know you have had a great day of bird hunting in the midst of some of the most outstanding scenery you'll probably ever bird hunt. Ducks in our area include Mallards, Goldeneye, Green-Winged Teal, Black Duck, Bufflehead, Canvasback, Gadwall, Shoveler, Redhead, Scaup, Pintail and Merganser. Most geese are Canadas. Pheasant Hunting There are a few pheasants to hunt in the valleys around the farm ground. Once you've taken some grouse and waterfowl it's kind of nice to bag a pheasant or two, just to finish off an unforgettable hunt. |
