Mule Deer
Big mule deer in the southwest are getting harder to find every year. In Arizona, there's only a couple of areas that still produce big bucks. Each year, Arizona Wildlife Outfitters sends a recommendation list to all our clients on where to apply for big, trophy animals. If you would like to be on that list to find out where the big bucks are, give us a call, FAX or send us a request via e-mail.
| Photo #1: Bruce Barletta from Pennsylvania took this 6 X 6 buck while hunting with AWO owner Don Martin on a general hunt in 2003 Unit 13B, Arizona's best trophy mule deer unit. |

Photo #1: Non-resident success! Bryan Randle from Trevor, WI bagged this 8 1/2 year-old ram on the third day of the 2004 hunt in Unit 15D with AWO owner Don Martin. This ram was the second largest taken in the unit, and the fourth largest taken in Region III in 2004! Bryan looked at over 135 sheep including 35 rams before taking the ram we called "The Boss".
| Photo #2: Big Ram! Bill VanderWeyst took this great ram in 2004 while hunting with with AWO's Dan Reed in Unit 15C North. This is not a good unit, and Dan & Bill hunted hard to find this trophy! |

Javelina & Turkey Hunts
Photo #1: Page McDonald took this large boar javelina at 125 yards with her handgun during a February 2005 HAM (Handgun, Archery, Muzzleloader) hunt with AWO owner Don Martin. Pig tags are easy to draw and hunts are cheap! |

Arizona will offer some great and unique hunting opportunities from January through April 2006 for hunters who seek javelina and spring turkey adventures. Archery pig hunts are open for the entire month of January, while muzzleloader, handgun and rifle hunters can hunt pigs during a week long season in February. All tags are issued through a draw. Javelina tags are just $75 and the non-resident hunting license is still only $113.50
You must apply for javelina/spring turkey tags in Sept-Oct. 2005 and the good news is that the hunting license needed (2006) for this application is good for your other big game applications for the fall hunts in 2006. Hunters who want to pursue the wily Merriam's gobblers can do so in April-May. These tags are also issued only through a draw. Tags are just $55.50 and a hunting license ($113.50) is needed. Again this license can be used to apply for other big game tags in the fall, 2006 draw. AWO offers custom four-day fully guided and outfitted one-on-one javelina or turkey hunts for just $1,100. Apply for these tags with a friend and the same custom four-day hunt is just $1,800 or $900 each for a 2 X 1 hunt. In the past our hunters have had 100% shooting opportunities at javelina, regardless of the method of take. These tags are easy to draw and we will advise you on what units to apply for. We are located just 100 miles from Las Vegas, Nev., and can arrange for pickup and take back to McCarran International airport for an additional $200 (one or two persons). Many of our javelina/turkey hunters bring their spouses out to Las Vegas for a mini-vacation while we are out on our hunts. We will also offer small game (quail and coyote) hunts in January and February for $250 per day, one or two hunters.. We are also licensed fishing guides. We conduct spring trips on Lake Mead and Alamo Lake for largemouth, and in the spring/summer, we offer night time striped bass/catfish trips based out of our newly remodeled fishing camp in Meadview. Trips are just $250, for one or two anglers. If you like to "hunt" with a video or 35 mm camera, we can assist you on your quest. Call us for details on these special "hunts" |

Special Services
Arizona Wildlife Outfitters provides our clients with a variety of services ranging from providing comprehensive hunt recommendations, to the purchasing of licenses for our non-resident hunters. We can also assist you in the application process for Arizona big game tags. These are free services, just something we do to help our friends. Arizona is on a bonus point system for deer, elk, antelope, desert bighorn sheep, Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep and buffalo. Remember, sportsmen can only get bonus points if they have purchased a hunting license before they apply for those species. It is my recommendation that sportsmen purchase a hunting license each year, so they can accrue bonus points if they are unsuccessful. We have hunters each year that do draw the first time they apply, so don't be discouraged. One thing is for sure: you can't draw unless you apply! Want more information? Write, call or send us e-mail and we'll get a packet of information out to you. We also offer an exciting hunting video, with lots of "over-the-shoulder-action" for just $5. This video includes footage of the desert bighorn sheep hunt that was featured on Tom Miranda's "Outdoor Adventure Magazine" on ESPN. Mike Pellegatti bags what was then the third largest desert bighorn sheep ever taken with a muzzleloader in the rugged Black Mountains. Hunters can start applying for big game tags in May, with the deadline the middle of June, so don't delay. Let us help you plan your 2005/2006 Arizona outdoor adventures! |
